Celebrating Thai Pongal: A Festival of Harvest and Gratitude

Thai Pongal, also known as Pongal, is a vibrant and auspicious harvest festival celebrated by the Tamil community worldwide. Falling annually in January, Thai Pongal holds great significance as it marks the beginning of the Tamil month of Thai. The festival is a time for expressing gratitude to the Sun God for a bountiful harvest and is celebrated with fervour and joy. This time, the European Nations Campus has got together to celebrate this occasion at the dawn of the New Year in 2024. On this day, our beloved staff dressed in traditional attire, decorated with a Rangoli at the foot of ENC. Traditional clay pots are used to cook Pongal, and as the dish boils over, it symbolizes prosperity and good fortune. Afterwards, the cooked Pongal and other traditional delicacies were set on the table, the team spent a few wholesome hours of laughter and good spirits. At ENC, we take immense pride in fostering an inclusive and diverse corporate culture. We believe that our strength lies in the unique perspectives, experiences, and talents that each individual brings to the table.
