How much it will cost?

 

The education in New Zealand is world-class but very cost competitive compared to other countries. One just needs to talk to the desired institute about their fees and preferred methods of payment.

Avg Tution Fees : Academic Courses can cost about NZ$18,000–$25,000 a year, depending on your course selected. Some private providers / institute’s offer programs between 10,000$ – 14,000 $aswell.

Living Costs : Prescribed living cost for international students is $10,000 per year, however this could vary depending on individual lifestyle. This cost covers basic costs like : accommodation, food and basic travel within city or campus.

 

Process to Apply

Application – all institutes follow their one independent application process hence students need to follow respective Institutes guidelines, Students need to submit their academic and work experience Documents. The Offer Letter is issued to the students once the student meets the guidelines of the institute. All institutes have different application process time frame. However, 
2- 4 weeks is the average process time. The process time is longer for Research applications.

Visa – In the case of most of the complete applications, the Process time for Visa application outcome is 4- 8 weeks. The Local embassy / High commission can interview the students for further clarifications on visa file. Standard check list / documents list is prescribed by the local embassy / high commission and it’s advisable for students to follow the same for successful visa outcome.

 

Accommodation Information

 

On Campus: 

Halls of residence or student hostels
Usually, these are located on campus or nearby, with single or twin rooms. Bed linen and cleaning are provided. Students eat their meals in a communal dining hall, with special dietary needs catered for Student accommodation in around 100$ – 200$ per week.

Homestay or private board
This gets you a room in a suburban house, usually with a garden and lawns. Adjustment to life in New Zealand can be taken care by the host families in New Zealand.

Renting a house or apartment
Private apartments or house can be rented by the students. You can either share the apartment or stay alone, these range from a two-bedroom apartment to a large house on its own land. Most of the rental properties are unfurnished, apart from an oven, a laundry, curtains and carpet. 

One needs to pay for electricity, gas, phone and water, including connection fees. Usually the Tenancy Services holds a bond of up to 4 weeks’ rent, which gets refunded when you move out, if the flat is still in good condition. 

Temperoray Accomodation / Hotels: 
Initially, staying at a Local hotel or Motel close to the campus for temporary period is also an option, costs of such hotel single occupancy vary from 50$- 150$ per night.
