Overview

The MSc Data Science (Top-Up) programme is tailored for graduates from a wide range of academic disciplines who wish to advance into the rapidly evolving domain of data science. In response to the growing global demand for data-driven expertise, this programme develops both theoretical understanding and applied skills in key areas such as data analytics, predictive modelling, artificial intelligence, and large-scale data management.

With a strong focus on practical application, students gain hands-on experience using industry-relevant tools and technologies, enabling them to interpret complex data and support informed decision-making. The programme prepares graduates for impactful careers across multiple industries, including business, healthcare, finance, and emerging technology sectors.

Course Entry Requirement

    Candidates are required to satisfy one of the following criteria:

    • Possess a Second Class (Lower Division) undergraduate degree or an equivalent qualification in any academic discipline;

            OR

    • Demonstrate substantial professional experience through a comprehensive CV and verified employment references, in addition to holding one of the following Level 7 credentials:
      • LQA Level 7 Diploma in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science
      • OTHM Level 7 Diploma in Data Science
      • QUALIFI Level 7 Diploma in Data Science, inclusive of the LQA Level 7 unit in Research and Analytical Methods

    Furthermore, applicants must have achieved a minimum grade of ‘C’ in both Mathematics and English at the GCE Ordinary Level examination or an equivalent qualification.
